Summer Session Registration

The ongoing goal of Summer Session in the Langley School District is to provide short-term educational opportunities for students to support them in their long-term educational development, and to inspire them to reach their full potential. Every year, Summer Session provides an opportunity for grade 1-12 students from Langley to explore areas of interest, get extra help, and stay connected with their learning during the summer.

General Information

The 2025 Summer Session Program will run for the following dates:

Elementary/Middle Program: July 7, 2025 to July 25, 2025 from 9 a.m – 12 p.m.

Secondary Program: July 2, 2025 to August 1, 2025 from 8:30 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Other Information

All Summer Session classes are based on sufficient enrolment and are subject to cancellation.

Attendance in ALL classes is a requirement of Summer Session. If you already know your child will be missing classes, please do not register in summer session.

Registration for Summer Session cannot be done by phone or e-mail. If you have questions please email summersession@sd35.bc.ca. If you would like someone to call you, please indicate that in your email, with a name and call back number.

Registration
Registration for Summer Session will take place by the following dates:

Current Langley School District students:

  • The elementary (Grades 1 to 5) school program – Wednesday, April 23 at 11:30 a.m.
  • The middle (Grades 6 to 8) school program – Monday, April 28 at 11:30 a.m.
  • The secondary (Grades 9 to 12) program – Wednesday, April 30 at 11:30 a.m.

Students who live within the Langley City or Langley Township but are not current students of Langley School District:

  • The elementary (Grades 1 to 5) school program – Wednesday, May 21 at 11 a.m.
  • The middle (Grades 6 to 8) school program – Monday, May 26 at 11 a.m.
  • The secondary (Grades 9 to 12) school program – Wednesday, May 28 at 11 a.m.

Registration for all other students:

  • The elementary (Grades 1 to 5) school program – Wednesday, June 4 at 11 a.m.
  • The middle (Grades 6 to 8) school program – Monday, June 9 at 11 a.m.
  • The secondary (Grades 9 to 12) school program – Wednesday, June 11 at 11 a.m.

Registrations in available classes are processed in the order the registration occurs, on a “first-come, first-served basis.”

Registration closes on the following dates for all applicants:

  • Wednesday, June 11 (Elementary/Middle) or
  • Wednesday, June 18 (Secondary)
How To Register
Online registration is available for all students and is the quickest way to complete the initial registration.

If you registered for Summer Session 2023 or 2024, please use the link to confirm that you can enter the website. If you don’t remember your password, please use the “Forgot Your Password” link. You will not be able to create another account with the same email address.

If you are registering for the first time, you will need to use the “Create an Account” link. It is strongly recommended that you create an account prior to the registration dates.

Please Note: Due to the high volume of registrations, users may experience interruptions while using the registration software. If this occurs, please wait a few minutes and try again.

In-Person Registration is not available this year, but you can e-mail if you have questions about registration. If you would like staff to contact you via phone, please indicate that in your email along with your phone number.

What Is Required to Register?
For Langley Schools students (SD35 students)

Student’s Personal Education Number (PEN), student’s legal and preferred name if different, phone number(s), address, and parent/guardian(s) name(s) and e-mail address.

Out-of-district and independent school students must attach good quality electronic copies of all required documentation for the registration to be processed. This includes:

Student’s birth certificate (original and official translation if applicable)

Student’s proof of citizenship (Canadian passport, Government-issued Status Card, or PR Card)

Parent’s proof of citizenship (Canadian passport, Government-issued Status Card, or PR Card)

Proof of residence showing parent’s name (2025 assessment or current tenancy agreement)

One primary residential support document in parent’s name (current-dated utility bill) or three secondary support documents in parent’s name (ICBC car registration, current-dated mobile phone bill, current-dated credit card statement, tenant’s insurance contract, etc.)

Student’s Individual Education Plan (IEP)

APPLICATIONS WITH MISSING DOCUMENTATION WILL NOT BE PROCESSED AND WILL BE DELETED FROM THE SYSTEM.

International Students
Secondary International students already registered in the Langley School District must contact their International Student Program (ISP) Coordinator at their current school before registering in Summer Session classes. This is to confirm information regarding course requirements, payment options, and to confirm homestay.

International students can register for their course online, outlined above and complete their registration through their current school and they will be able to make their payments through school cash on-line or at LEC.

All International students are subject to course fees. Payment of course fees must be made within 7 days of registration. School District #35 International student fees are $675 for Elementary / Middle and $1,350 for Secondary.

International students withdrawing from courses are subject to a 10% processing fee. Refunds are not given after the first day of Summer Session 2025.

International students not currently enrolled in the Langley School District for the current school year cannot enrol in Summer Session 2025.

Elementary/Middle Courses
Explorations classes are intended for students who want to explore in depth a subject that interests them, and improve their knowledge and understanding.

Skill Builder classes are intended for students who are not currently at grade level or would benefit from extra time in a subject to improve their skills and confidence.

Please Note: Students are only allowed to be registered in classes for their current grade (ex. if the student is in grade 2 they can only register in grade 2 Summer Session classes). The only exception is for the Skillbuilder – Jumpstart Grade 1 which is intended for current Kindergarten students.

Secondary Courses
Academic Skill Builder Courses offered at LSS & WGSS. July 7 – July 25 from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. These classes will be offered to students who have already taken the course and have not met the learning outcomes or have only done so at a minimal level.
