Win $1000 with Youth Work!
Scholarship criteria:
- Canadian citizens or permanent residents
- Be registered as an apprentice by Langley School District
- Graduate with a Dogwood Diploma or Adult Dogwood
- Complete the four Youth Work in Trades courses
- Earn a C+ average or better in Grade 12 courses
- Complete 900 hours of work-based training reported to SkilledTradesBC by August 31 of the deadline year (Based on student’s birthdate. See chart at bottom of page for more information)
Student Requirements
- Have parent/guardian permission
- Be 15-19 years old
- Be working or previously worked in one of the 100 SkilledTradesBC (formerly ITA BC) regulated trades

What other grants, awards, financial supports and incentives are available to apprentices?
Red Seal Trades
Apprentices in Red Seal trades can apply for the Apprenticeship Incentive Grant (AIG) and the Apprenticeship Completion Grant (ACG).
To earn the AIG, Level 1/2 must be completed in addition to a number of Work Based Training (WBT) hours that depend on the trade. Once the requirements are met, SkilledTradesBC will email the apprentice with a “Confirmation of Progression Letter”. Apprentices must upload this letter and apply for the AIG and ACG at the links above.

AIG is $1000 for apprentices who complete Level 1. Completion of Level 2 training and the required WBT hours can earn a second $1000 grant.
ACG provides $2000 to tradespeople who earn their Red Seal.
Non-Red-Seal Trades
Provincial tax credits are available for apprentices in Skilled Trades BC-regulated non-Red-Seal Trades. More information is available here.
