About Us / School Life
Lynn Fripps has seen much change since its opening in 2012. With a current population of 640 students, Lynn Fripps continues to grow in numbers each year. Lynn Fripps continues to support a diverse population with various needs. 27% of the student population is supported by the English Language Learners program, 3% have Aboriginal status, and 8% are students identified with Diverse Needs.
The Langley School District works in partnership with the Township of Langley to support the Lynn Fripps community with a Neighbourhood Learning Centre which includes “Active Kids”, a program where children from the community participate in after-school programs. Other clubs offered to the community after school include Drama, Art, and Lego. Lynn Fripps Elementary is the home of Headstart Children’s Center that provides before and after school daycare as well as a preschool program.
At Lynn Fripps, our goal is to create a safe positive learning environment for all learners to reach their full potential and create a positive legacy for the future. This vision coincides with that of the school district, working together supporting students from diverse backgrounds and communities so that they can develop their positive personal and cultural identity competencies.
Connecting our goals with the District’s Core Values of Integrity, Excellence, Courage and Community, we intend to build in our students the ability to self-regulate and work collaboratively which research suggests will lead to increased student engagement and academic achievement. This will also lead students to better be able to identify their strengths and abilities. This skill will allow students to contribute to the learning of others in the Lynn Fripps community. These actions will lead to the development of communication and social responsibility.
